Women, in Dallas, affected by drug addiction and alcoholism know that their life is out of control, and that addiction has rendered them unable to maintain control over mood-altering substances. They have become victims of a compulsive disorder and an uncontrollable dependency on chemicals which inevitably destroys their lives. At Pathway to Recovery, in the Dallas area, we know that drug addiction and alcoholism in women, affects the entire family. For the family and the addicted female family member, life begins to deteriorate as social relationships weaken, children are neglected or abused, jobs are in jeopardy or are lost, finances are in disarray, and in some cases, hospitalization or legal problems occur. Addiction becomes a reality when the use of alcohol or other drugs interferes with women's health, family, job, or social life—when one or more aspects of life become unmanageable as a result of chemical dependency. However, effective drug rehab and alcoholism treatment is available for both the female addict and their family in the Dallas area.
