We now have a unique new treatment option for women that will help our female patients on their journey toward recovery. Pathway to Recovery's Women's alcohol and drug treatment center is a safe, caring, and sensitive residential facility providing the opportunity to learn new skills so that women return with new knowledge and experience to their family, employment, and community. This new treatment opportunity will bring a much needed choice to women who have not been able to receive rehabilitation for addiction. Pathway to Recovery recognizes the need to listen and respond to the voices of women who have lived with addiction and help them to become healthy and whole. This opportunity now available for women with substance use problems, in Texas, and can help them start taking control of their disease and help them get on – and stay on – the pathway to recovery.

The best possible care in the least restrictive environment.

Our small patient population ensures counselor-patient bonding. This small clinical ratio ensures that the patient will get the best possible care during their course of treatment. Our average patient to counselor/therapist ratio is 5 to 1 and our direct care staff to patient ratio is 4-1. This therapeutic approach is designed to facilitate the individual and the families healing process. Our women's treatment philosophy is that each individual is unique and of worth and should be treated with dignity and respect. Our fundamental goal is to restore the individual to a healthier, happier and more productive life, free from dependency on alcohol or other drugs.

Our professional therapists utilize all available modalities, information, and current scientific research. Pathway To Recovery incorporates many treatment approaches using patient centered therapy including:

Getting Back To Work..

Our clinical staff, in cooperation with Employee Assistance Programs, will work to develop a comprehensive occupational rehabilitation program to assist patients to return to work. Additionally, Pathway To Recovery will assist patients who do not have a high school diploma or GED to obtain one prior to discharge. We believe that an individual's long term sobriety is based, in part, in their ability to obtain meaningful employment.

Family Outreach

Family involvement in the treatment process is critical for the success of long term recovery and abstinence from mind and mood altering substances. We encourage family members to attend and participate in our weekly Family Focus Meetings as well as visiting their loved ones during our visitation hours. The family program is designed to help family members learn about the disease of chemical dependency so they may be better equipped to offer positive support for their female loved one. Families are encouraged to join us on Friday evenings for our Family Focus group from 6PM to 8PM.

Women affected by drug addiction and alcoholism know that their life is out of control, and that addiction has rendered them unable to maintain control over mood-altering substances. They have become victims of a compulsive disorder and an uncontrollable dependency on chemicals which inevitably destroys their lives. At Pathway to Recovery, we know that drug addiction and alcoholism, affects the entire family. For the family and the addicted female family member, life begins to deteriorate as social relationships weaken, children are neglected or abused, jobs are in jeopardy or are lost, finances are in disarray, and in some cases, hospitalization or legal problems occur. Addiction becomes a reality when the use of alcohol or other drugs interferes with women's health, family, job, or social life—when one or more aspects of life become unmanageable as a result of chemical dependency. However, effective drug addiction and alcoholism treatment is available for both the female addict and their family.

Pathway to Recovery is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services to provide inpatient and outpatient levels of care in Texas.

Women's 12 Step Involvement

Our women's drug and alcohol rehab program offers 12-step orientation and all female patients are educated about the programs of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). NA and AA meetings are held seven days each week.
